Before Combat:
If alone, the Blackwood Archer finds an area where he can hide, and take advantage of the terrain (higher ground, cover). If in a party, the Blackwood Archer stays behind melee combatants striking from distance.

During Combat:
Strikes from distance and uses Quick Stride ability to keep away from a pursuing foe.

Morale: The Blackwood Archer has no desire to put himself in harms way. If alone, he will always retreat if he’s damaged a foe in some way. If in a party, the Blackwood Archer remains steadfast and will not retreat unless half his party is dead and none of his opponents are dead.

Story: Living in the north of Erethor, Yalindyl witnessed the deaths of many of his northern cousins. Seeing first hand the overwhelming odds presented by Izrador’s orcs, Yalindyl decided he wanted to be on the winning side. Betraying all that he knew, Yalindyl stealthily made his way to Highwall and presented himself as a candidate to join the Blackwood Company.

Liar (Ex): You have betrayed your people to the Shadow, and you know that you will sufer at their hands if your duplicity is discovered. Thus you have learned to lie convincingly to your own people, be they dwarves, elves, or halflings. When interacting with members of your race, you gain a +2 competence bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy, Gather Information, and Sense Motive checks.
Shadow Brand (Su): When you become a servant of Izrador, you are marked with an invisible sign that brands you as property of the Shadow. Though invisible to the naked eye, this brand can be seen by astiraxes and anyone who is the subject of a true seeing spell. When dealing with minions of the Shadow who know your true nature as a fey turncoat, you gain a +2 competence bonus to Diplomacy checks.
Shadow Aspect 1: Elf (Su): As an elf in the service of the Shadow, you are affected less by nearby black mirrors. As such, the increased spell energy cost that you pay when casting channeled spells near a black mirror is reduced by 1.

Shadow Aspect 2: Elf (Sp): You become keenly aware of life, death, and magic in the world around you. You are constantly under the effects of the deathwatch and detect magic spells, with caster levels equal to your character level. These spells may be dispelled, but they automatically reactivate as a free action on your turn.

Shadow Aspect 3: Elf (Ex): Your elven features begin to take on an unhealthy cast. Your skin grows sallow, your eyes become sunken, and your demeanor becomes cruel and detached. You gain a +2 bonus to your Intelligence score and a +1 bonus to either ranged attacks or caster level checks (your choice), but you lose the Innate Magic feat.
