The Hope of Erethor
Deep in the heart of the Darkening Wood Maelzon, legate of Izrador, ran a camp to protect a minor necormatic conflux. It is believed that the grief of Aelgar for his dead son is what primarily powered the Darkening Wood. In a black crystal, Aelgar’s dead son was animated, playing the lyre as he had when he lived. When the black crystal was destroyed, the music ceased and Aelgar’s grief was shattered, leaving the Darkening Wood to begin to brighten. Mahogin’s battle poem contributed greatly to shaking Aelgar from his grim introsepction.
